Where it all begins… [It all begins with culture]
Barry O’Brien’s passion for different cultures—and how people around the world shape the land to meet their needs—plays a big role in the winemaking philosophy at ŌBV. The goal is simple: to make Culturally Inspired, Climate Appropriate wines. That means creating styles that actually make sense for Northern Michigan’s cool climate, like traditional Champagne-style sparkling wines, aromatic whites, and smooth, medium-bodied reds. Many of these wines are influenced by regions with similar growing conditions, such as Alsace, Champagne, Germany, and Northern Spain.
100% Pinot Noir made in the Méthode Traditionelle of Champagne. Strawberry and currant flavors with a touch of brioche aromas.

Our take on Dry Riesling!
Offering subtle peach and citrus aromas with intense stone fruit flavors, finishing dry. A perfect dinner companion with fish, seafood or poultry, or later with a good book. $24
Ard Rí, ancient Irish for High King, represents the unifying qualities of strength, courage, integrity and generosity. We pay tribute to these values and to our family’s progenitor, Brian Bóruma, the last and greatest Ard Rí of Ireland. Our Pinot Noir is made from specially selected Dijon clones and aged in French oak barriques for 10 months. Cheers!
In keeping with our desire to make the most appropriate wine style for the vintage, we make a red Pinot Noir only in warmer vintages. 2024 was the warmest, ripest vintage we’ve had. Ripe, deep and full of character. $48.00.
Just 900 bottles made.
